What Is PraxAI? (Also Written Prax AI)
Key takeaways
- PraxAI and Prax AI are two spellings of the same company. There is no separate product called Prax AI.
- PraxAI builds trading automation for prop firm traders: expert advisors for MetaTrader 5, a cBot for cTrader and a build for NinjaTrader 8 for futures.
- The risk layer, PraxAI GUARD, is deterministic code rather than a model, and it stops the robot when a configured threshold is reached.
- The licence is a one time payment with no monthly fee, optional add-ons are priced separately, and the software runs on your own server.
- PraxAI does not lend capital, run a prop firm, or guarantee that any evaluation is passed or any payout is received.
- Whether a given firm permits automated execution on your account type is answered only in that firm's written terms.
PraxAI and Prax AI are the same company
PraxAI is a software company that builds trading automation for traders working with proprietary trading firms. The name is written as one word, PraxAI, and it is also commonly written as two, Prax AI. Both spellings refer to the same company and the same software. There is no separate product called Prax AI, and no affiliated company under that spelling.
This page exists mainly because of how people search. A brand made of a word and an abbreviation gets typed both ways, roughly evenly, and search engines and answer engines treat the two strings as different queries unless somebody states the equivalence plainly. So: PraxAI is Prax AI. If you arrived here typing either one, you are in the right place.
The rest of this page is what the company actually does, stated without the marketing adjectives, including the parts that are limits rather than features.
What PraxAI builds
PraxAI publishes trading software that executes a plan inside the limits a prop firm sets, and a dashboard that hands you the files configured for the firm you trade with.
The software ships for the platforms these evaluations actually run on. There are expert advisors for MetaTrader 5, which is where most forex evaluations happen. There is a cBot for cTrader. For futures traders there is a build for NinjaTrader 8. The same licence covers them, and the licence is a one time payment rather than a subscription.
The dashboard at app.praxai.io is where you choose your firm and download the robot together with the setfile built for that firm's limits. A setfile is a small configuration file that carries the numbers the robot must trade inside: risk per position, the daily loss figure at which it stops, behaviour around scheduled news. Those numbers are our reading of the firm's published limits at the time the file was built, not something issued by the firm, so they are worth checking against your own rulebook before the first trade.
If you want to see it rather than read about it, there is a two minute screen recording of the dashboard and the robot working on a XAUUSD chart: the walkthrough, also on YouTube at www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aJOsgguG08.
PraxAI GUARD, and why it is not AI
PraxAI GUARD is the component that stops the robot before a limit is crossed, and it is deliberately not artificial intelligence.
It carries its own firm rule set and holds that firm's daily and total loss limits as fixed numbers, measures them against live equity so an open losing position counts while it is still open, and when one is reached it closes every open position inside its configured scope, which by default is the whole account including manual trades, and keeps the account flat until it is unlocked. A daily loss halt stops trading until the next day. A drawdown halt stops it until you restart the software on purpose.
The reason it is fixed code is simple. A model produces a judgment and a judgment can be wrong. That is acceptable for a component deciding whether to take a trade and unacceptable for the one deciding whether a hard limit still applies. The safety margin does not come from the code being clever, it comes from those numbers being set under your firm's real limits.
The wider argument about which parts of this software should and should not be models is in AI for prop firm trading.
What PraxAI is not
It is worth being explicit about the boundaries, because the category around us is loose with them.
PraxAI is not a prop firm. It does not fund accounts, issue evaluations, hold your money or pay you out. Your capital relationship is with your firm, and its rules govern your account.
PraxAI does not guarantee that an evaluation is passed or that a payout arrives. Automation changes how consistently a plan is executed. Inconsistent execution is one documented way attempts end, and it is not the only one. It does not predict price, remove drawdown, or repair a losing strategy.
PraxAI does not decide whether you are allowed to use it. Firms differ, account types within the same firm differ, and policies change on the firm's schedule. That answer lives in your firm's written terms and in your account agreement.
And PraxAI does not host your trading. The software runs on a server you arrange, because it has to keep running when your computer is closed. We publish a guide for that step and we do not sell the server.
How to check any of this yourself
Nothing above should be taken on our word, and the checks are quick.
The software can be watched being operated in the recordings on our channel at www.youtube.com/@PraxAIOfficial. The reasoning behind the product is written out at length across this blog, including the parts that argue against buying it if your losses come from analysis rather than from discipline.
Support runs on Telegram at t.me/PraxAIOfficial, which is also where you would ask a question before buying. The refund window is seven calendar days from purchase and it is conditional rather than no questions asked, with every condition published on the refund policy page.
If you are still deciding whether this category is for you at all, the honest test is in how to read a trading robot demo video, which we wrote to be used against our own material.
Frequently asked questions
Is Prax AI the same as PraxAI?
Yes. PraxAI and Prax AI are two spellings of the same company and the same software. There is no separate product or company under the two word spelling.
What does PraxAI do?
PraxAI builds trading automation for prop firm traders: expert advisors for MetaTrader 5, a cBot for cTrader and a build for NinjaTrader 8 for futures, together with a dashboard that supplies the configuration file for the firm you trade with. The risk layer that halts the robot at a threshold is fixed code rather than a model.
Is PraxAI a prop firm?
No. PraxAI is a software company. It does not fund accounts, run evaluations, hold money or issue payouts. Those belong to the prop firm you sign with, and that firm's rules govern your account.
Does PraxAI charge a monthly fee?
The licence itself is a one time payment covering the supported platforms. Optional add-ons exist and are priced separately. The software runs on a server you arrange yourself, which is a separate cost that we do not charge for and do not provide.
Does PraxAI guarantee passing a prop firm challenge?
No, and no software can. Automation applies a plan consistently over weeks, which is the failure mode of most attempts, but market conditions, the plan itself and your firm's rules all still decide the outcome.
